This role forms part of the Human Resources team at Village n Life, based in Camps Bay, Cape Town.
The Role
As Group Human Resources Manager, you’ll lead the people function across Village n Life’s portfolio of hotels and hospitality businesses.
We’re looking for an experienced hospitality HR leader who has already managed HR across multiple properties. Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you’ll lead a strong, consistent people function that supports our teams, our service standards and the demands of a seven-day hospitality business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the Group HR team across multiple properties
Drive workforce planning, recruitment, retention and performance management
Strengthen HR policies, procedures and group standards
Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievances and CCMA matters
Guide remuneration, payroll alignment, labour costs and workforce controls
Oversee training, career development and employee wellbeing
Manage Employment Equity, Skills Development and statutory HR requirements
Use people data and HR reporting to identify trends, risks and opportunities
Partner with leadership on people decisions that support operational performance
What We’re Looking For
Degree or equivalent tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management
Minimum 7 years’ HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR management or senior HR leadership role
Proven HR management experience across multiple hotels or hospitality properties – essential
Hospitality or hotel-group HR experience – essential
Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and CCMA processes
Solid experience across employee relations, recruitment, performance management and workforce planning
Experience with payroll, HR systems, Employment Equity and Skills Development
Proven ability to lead an HR team and advise senior and operational leaders
Commercially aware, practical and confident in making sound people decisions
Valid driver’s licence, reliable transport and ability to travel between properties
