‘Kalfiefees’ (Afrikaans for Calf Festival) is an annual celebration of the whale calves born on the coastline in Spring. This festival has a strong focus on theatre and drama. The festival line-up will include a Women’s Day Celebration, dramatic and comic theatre productions as welll as family-friendly entertainment, and music.

The 27th annual Hermanus Whale Festival is the largest and oldest eco-arts festival on the Cape Whale Coast.
