The Walker Bay Xtreme Hermanus is a 4-day multidiscipline sport festival held annually in and around Hermanus at the end of April. The event features a collection of family and spectator-friendly sporting events as well as a line-up of top, local and international athletes. ‘Kalfiefees’ (Afrikaans for Calf Festival) is an annual celebration of the whale calves born on the coastline in Spring. This festival has a strong focus on theatre and drama. The festival line-up will include a Women’s Day Celebration, dramatic and comic theatre productions as welll as family-friendly entertainment, and music.

The 27th annual Hermanus Whale Festival is the largest and oldest eco-arts festival on the Cape Whale Coast. Every year, the Southern Right Whales return from their yearly migration to the shores around Hermanus, making it the best site in the world for land-based whale watching.
